What is the DiSTI Duffer

The DiSTI Duffer is a grassroots effort to raise money for the Central Florida STEM Education Council via a casual 9-hole scramble tournament. Innovation is changing the world around us, and most of the 30 fastest-growing occupations require a background in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Yet according to ChangetheEquation.org, “Business leaders in Florida… cannot find the STEM talent they need to stay competitive.”

Through STEM education and outreach programs like the U.S. Army PEO STRI High School Engineering Internship and the TMCA Robotics Academy (pictured below), young people are exposed to exciting, hands-on, mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills.

All funds raised benefit the Central Florida STEM Education Council (CFSEC). CFSEC strives to develop a unified STEM program to include mass communication, mentorships, and resources for parents, students, and educators through on-line and event venues. We support the CFSEC’s efforts to stimulate interest in STEM education and hope you’ll choose to proved support to them as well.
